So hot today, and there was no wind to balance it out either, also there was not a cloud in sight again till much later (was amazing and perfect when one finally came across the sun, instant cool!)
Bought an Iron Maiden final frontier baseball cap (expensive as same price as a festival t-shirt but very appreciated!)
Caught some local bands just after a mini twister ran through the site picking up dust and food packets they encountered. One was a poppy punk rock band the other a ska band, where we encountered a very funny bloke, just kept dancing around flapping about very wildly smiling away.
Will try and get video attached to a later post.
We enjoyed some ice coffee’s (very much enjoyed!) and watched a bit of this a bit of that then stayed at blue stage and saw in flames, Motörhead iron maiden then headed to the tent to watch/listen to System of A Down and pack away.
In flames were having major sound problems, they played quite well but the sound would cut out or sound garbled, some sound problems were still present during Motörhead, we had this guy dancing in front of us he was amazing, drunk or drugged up off his face, imagine Captain Jack Sparrow at 5ft 4″ with a pint of mead, never spilling a drop while he swaggered and swayed and jumped and flying kicked and stamped about and wiggled around, guy was legendary singing every word to Motörhead too, he was mental and was giving himself a wedgey that reached his nipples until his boxers broke he then ripped through his boxers and tied one leg piece around his head, tucked the crotch part into a man’s shirt then threw the other leg piece into the crowd, he then continued to dive around the place and play ‘boo’ with people passing by, after a while he started vigorously humping Phil’s leg doing the haka. It is fair to say he took more of my attention than Motörhead did. We met some Australians touring all the festivals this month 1 every weekend crazy mofo’s we’re going to meet the guy at Graspop later on ![]()
Iron Maiden were on form, with an excellent set list, the crowd were very strange and hardly anyone singing or dancing about or anything. But they’d clap at the end of each song, and did join in in saying ‘fear of the dark’ but they didn’t do the wooaaahhh-ooooo’s at all. Phil and I loved them, for me crowd was a big let down but couldn’t fault maiden once again. We left and packed up, finishing beers, getting ready to leave in morning while system played what sounded a very good set and much better than the last time i saw them. We walked to station again in morning, i took a funny tumble straight over on this flyover when i tripped but added weight on my back meant i was going down :-p we then headed to vienna for shower and other pleasantries like beds :-p
